file sharing integrated with instant messaging

::
*Aimster* , a new Napster-like Internet application, attaches a Gnutella browser to AOL's Instant Messaging service. Technology cannot be blocked or temporarily interrupted by the messaging service provider. Support for ICQ, Yahoo Messenger and MSN are expected by October 1. Aimster is available for Windows 95/98/NT/2000 and can be freely downloaded.

Johnny Deep, spokesperson for the developers, said, "Aimster brings together two of the most powerful Internet applications out there today. The combination of file-sharing and instant messaging allows people to create their own instant private networks.''
