MASTER'S DEGREE IN PUBLIC HOUSING

Participation in the Master's Degree in Public Housing at the School of Architecture, University of the Basque Country

We have been part of the Public Housing Master at the School of Architecture, University of the Basque Country -together with the Department of Environment, Territorial Planning and Housing of the Basque Government and the Delegation in Bizkaia of the Official Basque-Navarrese Architects Association (COAVN Bizkaia)- . We have developed a module of the curricular program during the third and fourth week of February, together with members of the ATRI team: Jon Andoni Begiristain (UPV/EHU), Alejandro Giménez Imirizaldu (Polytechnic University of Catalonia), David Juarez (Straddle3) and David Bravo (ATRI). 

The objective of this master's degree is to train highly qualified specialists to respond to the new challenges of public housing: from the knowledge of social needs, policies and regulations, to the design and implementation of new architectural solutions or intervention in existing ones. It offers a transversal training that integrates management knowledge with analysis and research skills and design and technical development skills in the field of public housing. It aspires to be unique and a reference in Spain, coordinating its contents with the policies of the Basque Government in the field of public housing as a guarantee of its relevance and connection with the current real problems. The program has prestigious references as teachers in the field of management and design of public housing and combines theory, practice, contact with experts and visits that allow to deepen the advanced knowledge of matters of maximum demand, related to social needs, new residential typologies, energy efficiency, sustainability and industrialized construction.
